Condensed Reviews: Hunger Games, Ender's Game & Thor

Since these films have been out for some time, I will just give a brief review of each. I will still rate the categories for you. If you would like me to elaborate, write to me.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

They stay close to the book and move the story along well. The acting and directing improve with this film over the first. For 2.5 hours, I was impressed it kept my attention and wanting more from the next film. It is a dark film with a unnerving premise, but worth seeing. I would recommend seeing the first one and reading the books to fill in some of the story gaps.

Ender's Game

This was a good film and storyline. The premise is a bit of a stretch, but the story line and acting help to take you on this journey. The life lesson learnt at the end was a different path than expected, but this sci fi/action film makes the viewer evaluate the moral base of their belief system. The lines truly blur between enemy and friend. Worth watching and designed  for a teenage and adult audience.

Thor: The Dark World

Better than the first, comedic timing was better, the action was well timed and even the 'realm' travel seemed to make more sense in this film. Thor: The Dark World is not groundbreaking film making, but fun blocky entertainment. Overall it was fun entertainment, great villain, 'wafer thin' story line but good action.
